The Path of Union
100HR Yoga Mentorship Program
September 29th, 2024-May 20, 2025
Yoga Mentorship between a teacher and a student can be one of the most rewarding and invaluable relationships an individual can embark on. Mentorship is illustrative of the traditional methodology of yoga “training,” in which a teacher and student work with one another for an extended period of time discussing yoga, practicing yoga, and immersing oneself in the practice entirely. It is reflective of pramāṇa, the means which can lead to knowledge. Pramāṇa is a theory of knowledge, which includes one or more trustworthy and valid methods through which people acquire precise, true knowledge.
The Program
The Path of Union is a 100 hour yoga mentorship program with Jess Taing. Designed for 200HR yoga teachers and beyond, this mentorship seeks to establish an authentic deliverance of yoga study. During this program, you will study, contemplate, and reflect upon the Bhagavad Gita, the Mahabharata, and the Upanisads. These sacred texts serve as the backbone to mentorship, providing an integrated lens into the study of yoga. We will also dive deeply into the Pancha Kosha model of healing and how to harmonize this model within your yoga classes. Finally, this mentorship aims to refine the art of teaching asana to your community through trauma-informed practices, pranayama, and the Eight Limbs of Yoga.

Svadhyaya
Svadhyaya, or self-study, is one of the Niyamas (ethical observances) in the Eight Limbs of Yoga. During this program, we will engage deeply in svadhyaya, incorporating the practice of introspection, self-examination, and the study of sacred texts to gain deeper insight into yourself and your place in the world.
Teaching Pedagogy
This mentorship will explore the nature of what it means to be a yoga teacher. Effective yoga teaching pedagogy aims to create a balanced and enriching learning experience that nurtures the physical, mental, and spiritual well-being of students. It encompasses a variety of approaches to ensure effective learning and growth in both physical and spiritual aspects of yoga.
Union
This program aims to uphold the definition of yoga: to unite. An enriching asana class can incorporate many other aspects of yoga that transcend beyond the physical body. Yet before we can expect that to happen within the yoga class, it must first be initiated within ourselves.
